Spring Semester Begins 1-3-13

 

WEEK January 22-25, 2013

Grid drawing work on self portraits all week. Strong work on the grid process matching all the values within the drawing.

 

WEEK January 14-18, 2013

We drew faces a couple days and then transitioned into a self portrait grid project. We took photos of each student and cut mat board for each drawing and everyone got started on their work. We included a background grid and put the self portraits in front of a slected background. All graphite work. The week ended with a early release snow day.

 

WEEK January 7-11, 2013

Day 3

We drew noses. First nose, was as we thought we knew how. Then we had a demonstration, then we went to the handout. First with guided instruction, then we modeled the handout materials. We studied the tissue structure of the nose. Our next step actually caused us to draw each others noses. Then we drew the face in profile, eye and nose down to the lip.

Day 4- 7

Mouth/ lips, teeth and tongue. Cheeks, and how to put them together with the face and how they attach to the nose and the eyes. Ears will be next. Hair and head shape. We will finish the week with full face sketching.

 

Week January 3-4, 2013

Day 1 & 2

People drawing skills- eye instruction. We drew an eye as we knew how, then we had a demonstration of how to draw an eye. Then we drew eyes. Then we drew each others eyes.
